Nam Singh-Tao Shi an Ordained Taoist Priest of the Dragon Tiger Mountain School, O.M.D., N.C. (Nutritional Consultant), is a practitioner of all eight limbs of Chinese Medicine: Meditation, Exercise, Diet, Herbology, Astrology, Feng Shui, Massage, Acupuncture and Moxabustion. A graduate of the Tai Pei Institute of Traditional Pharmacology and Acupuncture, a graduate of Wei Chuan’s Culinary Educational Foundation, Taipei, R.O.C. Taiwan, as well as a chef specializing in Chinese medicinal cuisine. Nam Singh, formerly of China Moon and Monsoon Restaurants, has work extensively throughout the San Francisco Bay area. He presently resides in San Francisco. Chef Nam Singh has collaborated on two well-received books, Between Heaven and Earth, A Guide to Chinese Medicine and The Chinese Immigrant Cooking.
Nam Singh currently is the founder of the South Star Academy of Cooking with Chinese Herbs-founded in 1992 and functions as the chief instructor. The Academy’s main focus is to empower individuals with the appropriate knowledge of the Taoist understanding of Functional foods (Eating for Longevity) Taoist health sciences and spiritual practices. Nam Singh is also on the faculty of the Academy of Healing Nutrition, a Holistic Nutrition Coach Certification Program in New York City, London and Prague.
He has been teaching self-healing through the use of Chinese tonic herbs, food as medicine and self-reflection for over 35 years.
